The Peter Pan Picture Book prints are taken from a popular version of a book written by Daniel O’Connor. And, it was with the “kind permission” of the original author of the story of Peter Pan, Sir J. M. Barrie that this book was printed. All this was stated in the preface of our copy of the book.
The prints are colorful, tender, and fierce, all the spectrum of emotions and action that are in the story of Peter and the Lost Boys. Wendy, Michael and John, and Nana the dog are pictured as are the characters that threaten Never-Never Land, Pirates and the evil Captain Hook…There is a wonderful print of Crocodile chasing the Captain, and another of the Captain meeting his fated end.
Tinkerbell is shown as the little pixie fairy she is, and then as a smudge. If you see what looks like smoke, it is “Tink” the name Peter Pan lovingly called the fairy.
There are so many, and for this book that is a blessing, since everyone knows the story of Peter Pan. Alice B. Woodward is the wonderful artist of these prints taken from The Peter Pan Picture Book. The copyright is 1915 by G. Bell & Sons Ltd.
