The Peter Patter prints are a lot like Mother Goose. The book these prints came from is full of ‘rimes’, as the publisher spells the word. The art prints depict action from the rimes in the book…And Peter Patter is the young child, fairy, imp, you never are really told what he is, but he is somewhat described in an introductory rime. His best friend is Uncle Owl. All you have to do is look at the cover picture, and you can see for yourself! In fact, one of our grandchildren has the cover print in her room.
The quality of these pictures has lasted almost 100 years, mainly because the paper is of good stock. We boosted color a bit, but that was about all…The lovely art print Pretty would work in a nursery, and Toot for the playful three to four year old child’s room. For anyone who loves old prints and winter, how about Snowflake. Just for fun, there is Animal Show for finding funny monkeys and silly seals, and seeing lovely colors. There are many to choose from, lots of favorites in this collection of art prints.
The Peter Patter Book was written by Leroy F. Jackson, illustrated by Blanche Fisher Wright. It was published by Rand McNally & Co., and copyright is listed as 1918.
